24-25. September and 1/2. October 2005

The beginning had been made with local art in 2003. With Local art 2005, the project continued to provide an inventory of the artistic activities in the district of Schöneberg-Tempelhof and present it to the public.

The local art guide issued in 2003 formed the basis for asking artists and artists of the district to open their studios. It was noticeable that since 2003, local art had been grouped together, which organized their own studio co-operation, producer galleries or joint exhibitions.

The local art team (Constanze Musterer, Stephanie Schmidt-Salzmann, and Peter Wollenweber) focused on the art education and the development of an artistic network, taking into account the changes in the district since 2003: new studio buildings were built and new galleries has been opened. Many of these facilities could be won for local art in 2005 and a series of guided tours of the studio and galleries took place.

Due to the expansion of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, the events were held at various times in 2005: the artists in Tempelhof and Lichtenrade opened their ateliers on the weekend of 24th and 25th September, while the studios in Schöneberg and Friedenau opened their doors to the public at following weekend. The 3rd of October was marked by a number of artistic events in Schöneberg, including a full-day finale of local art in the Galerie KAP.
